Since 2023, we have been bringing our many years of experience in interdisciplinary projects and productions into the new HIDALGO WERKSTATT. As in our stage productions, fostering social dialogue remains a central concern. We are convinced that such dialogue can emerge through shared, and particularly interactive, experiences of (classical) music and the arts.
We draw on our network of outstanding artists who combine artistic excellence with expertise in music education. Our educational programmes are developed collaboratively and are inspired by our ambitious annual festival productions. Participants benefit from this artistic expertise while engaging in distinct educational formats that we continuously refine and develop over the long term.
Within the HIDALGO WERKSTATT, we work across disciplines, bringing together music, dance, visual arts, singing, and theatre. During the 2023/24 school year, for example, students explored questions of digital identity and forms of physical expression. They created original flash mobs (Who Are You) and developed their own choreographies (Tanz den ganz normalen Wahnsinn).
Participants in our workshops and WERKSTATT formats are supported and guided by classical instrumentalists, sound and AI artists, dance educators, and our music facilitators, creating spaces for artistic exploration, encounter, and participation.
