Sustainable

Climate change is one of the great challenges of our generation – and we at HIDALGO want to be part of the solution. We already pay attention to reusable materials, short travel distances and environmentally friendly logistics. However, we acknowledge that our existing commitment must be further expanded in the future.

In cooperation with the Munich-based WHAT IF project office for sustainable culture, we are investigating our ecological footprint in 2021 and 2022. We develop a concept for internal sustainability management. The aim is to position HIDALGO as an ecologically sustainable institution and to organize one of the first ecologically sustainable classical music festivals in Europe.

We face the challenge of increasing ecological sustainability while preserving other essential HIDALGO values. This includes, for example, the artistic quality, the socially acceptable pricing of our events and concerts as well as the professionalization and economic sustainability of our operations. We believe that these values – as well as diversity, social dialog, a spirit of innovation and communication on an equal footing – are not mutually exclusive, but rather interdependent.

We see our work on environmental sustainability as a long-term process that we continuously document, review and adapt. In doing so, we are making ourselves fit for the future – as HIDALGO, as part of society and as one of many generations that will be able to live on our planet in harmony with the environment for a long time to come. A revolution is needed to save the evolutionary miracle of this earth. We are there!
