Multimedia installation with the festival orchestra

We have a fantastic orchestra and a large hall—and 1000 ideas. For the best concept, we have selected our creative workers from the HIDALGO Kollektiv didn’t leave the basement of classical music for weeks. The result is a multimedia space-sound installation about searching, finding and losing love with the fantastic mezzo-soprano Corinna Scheurle. UPCYCLED: For the first time, we are presenting a scenic action with orchestral sound—and recycled black light materials from our pilot installation ORPLID in 2017.

ATTENTION: We are organizing the installation at UTOPIA (Heßstraße 132)!

Get-together with the HIDALGO Artists

The direct contact between our audience, our team and our artists is an integral part of HIDALGO. We serve drinks at the bar before and after the concert.

Additionally, on Friday, October 28, there will be an informal concept talk with conductor Johanna Malangré, digital live artist Paul Bießmann and stage artist Friederike Bernhardt (the latter two are members of the HIDALGO Kollektiv). Music journalist Cosima Obert will host the event.

The HIDALGO Festival Orchestra

The HIDALGO Festival Orchestra under conductor Johanna Malangré is a project ensemble made up of top young instrumentalists from the best orchestras in Munich and beyond. The repertoire focuses on classical modernism, i.e. the first half of the 20th century. The selected music is played in unusual locations such as electro clubs, bouldering halls and factories.

The audience usually sits directly next to the orchestra—this makes the haptic, physical interaction in the orchestra accessible. For the HIDALGO Festival Orchestra, classical music is neither the intellectual pleasure of a select few, nor is it banal entertainment. It is sophisticated, complex entertainment that the audience can experience emotionally. More info
