SONG INSTALLATION IN A TRANSPORTER

Life can be loud and fast. We hurry through a never-ending rush hour and hurtle from one crisis to another. In the mobile installation HIDALGO REFUGIUM, you will find an artistic space for refuge and experience. For a few minutes, you can leave your everyday life behind. Shielded from the environment’s light and sounds, you will hear the song “Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen” by composer Gustav Mahler after a text by poet Friedrich Rückert. With the music, a ghost appears dancing in the darkness.

Made possible with the friendly support of Dr. Markus Michalke and Prof. Ingeborg Henzler.

WORKS
“Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen” by Gustav Mahler (lyrics: Friedrich Rückert)

„A great immediacy. Totally entwined. The hierarchy between music and expressive dance is blurred. That fits together.”

Henning Hübert, WDR 3 Tonart

The art reverberates. Also for the audience. The pedestrians go to sit inside and come back out—maybe a little bit transported away from this world.

Rita Argauer, BR Klassik

„The touring format in the transporter is amazing for smaller cities in rural areas!“

Karen Jungkamp, City of Ahaus
