Call for entries for the HIDALGO GREAT SONG AWARD (audience and jury prize)

We are looking for song duos for a new competition at the Munich HIDALGO Festival for Young Classical Music. As a participant, you can expect an exciting concert format, a top-class jury and attractively endowed jury and audience prizes.

We are calling on song duos from all areas to take part in the HIDALGO Grand Song Prize in Munich! We are organizing the competition as part of this year’s

HIDALGO Festival for young classical music

on 19.10.2023 at 8 pm.

The HIDALGO Grand Song Prize will be awarded for the second time in this form in 2023. It is intended to be a stage for song duos who want to show off their skills and at the same time enjoy spending an evening in a relaxed atmosphere. You can expect artistic competition, variety and lots of fun! We want to combine the highest musical quality with an exciting concert and competition format.

As contestants, you will compete against other song duos. Your contributions provide the audience with a best of the art of song in fast-forward. Your performances will be judged by the audience through their applause. In addition, you can also convince our top-class jury: at the end, a jury prize and an audience prize will be awarded.

Like this year’s festival, the competition has the motto “Man Machine”. We want to explore with you and the means of art what significance, opportunities and risks algorithms and artificial intelligence have for our human existence. We look forward to your program suggestions for the motto!

  • Program proposal (one maximum 5-minute program for the preliminary round and an 8-10 minute program for the final)
  • Short text (maximum 1000 characters with spaces) to justify the program selection
  • Artistic curriculum vitae
  • Short biographies of the duo partners (350 characters each with spaces)
  • Portrait photos (individual incl. credit details)
  • Video recordings: 3 songs with a length between 3 and 5 minutes, at least two of them with uncut video (via link)

We are calling for Lied duos from all fields to take part in the Grand Lied Prix of HIDALGO in Munich! We will hold the competition as part of this year’s HIDALGO festival for young classical music on the 19th of October 2023 at 8pm.

The Grand Lied Prix of HIDALGO will be held in this form for the second time. It is intended to be a stage for Lied duos who want to showcase their skills while spending an evening in a relaxed atmosphere. You can expect artistic competition and lots of fun! We want to combine the highest musical quality with an exciting concert and competition format.

As contestants, you will compete against other Lied duos in an elimination contest. Your contributions will provide the audience with a fast-paced best of Lied. The audience will evaluate your performances with their applause. In addition, you can also convince our top-class jury: at the end, a jury prize and an audience prize will be awarded.

Like this year’s festival, the motto of the competition is “Mensch Maschine”. We want to explore the possibilities of sustainable reprocessing and (re)use through and in art with you. We are looking forward to your thematic program proposals!
