HIDALGO presents: a disembodied instrument that nobody can see. Music that still touches. With a top chef, a nightlife queen and the comedian Wigald Boning, all successful people who have failed countless times and confessed to us in public.
Failure is not a taboo at Fuck Up Night, but a basic principle: successful people talk about what is otherwise hidden: when they made mistakes, experienced defeat and no longer knew what to do.
Originally from Mexico, this format is now known around the world, especially in start-up culture. The message: people fail, then get up again and learn from it. Not just once, but again and again.
Our guests could also sing a song about this, but they don’t because a theremin is booked for the music. Instead, they tell us. How to drive companies and bars against the wall. How factors beyond their control threatened their existence. Why they are what they are today.
We are looking forward to welcoming comedian Wigald Boning, club owner Sandra Forster, now one of Munich’s best-known restaurateurs, and top chef Tohru Nakamura, who ran a two-star restaurant until before coronavirus. Her reports are part of a space-sound installation in the Impact Hub Munich coworking space.
The cast corresponds to the usual artistic level of HIDALGO and its artist collective. The artists may vary depending on availability.
